Hey Buddy, before your mind starts roaming here and there, let me make it clear that this is not any clichéd old fashioned ‘New Year Resolution Ideas’ blog. In this post I will tell you some excellent ways to be productive as well as enjoy this year to the fullest and make it one of the best year of your life. So I request you to read the full post otherwise you will miss some valuable tips. Bro, you have to admit that more or less, somewhere inside our minds we all were excited for the New Year’s Eve. Yes it was a lot of fun that night, that special New Year’s Eve. Some of us attended parties, some remained at home celebrating with their families, some were busy thinking about plans for the upcoming year and some were calling their friends to wish. But everyone celebrated the eve in their own way, you have to admit it. But like every special moment, that moment also faded and left us with a worth thinking question “So, the New Year Eve’s over. Now what?”. Haven’t you ever...

Why 'Bollywood' is injurious to Health ?

STOP!  Before you start yelling in the comments and leave the page, let me make it clear that the article is not against any specific movie, actor or production house. It’s just about trying to figure the points how Bollywood is damaging the whole nation, especially the youth of the country. So, with a mature perspective and mere patience, let’s dive into it.

Bollywood is the combination of two words ‘Bombay Cinema’ and ‘Hollywood’. It is one of the world’s largest industry in present day producing almost 150 movies per year. In India, movies are not just moving graphics for us, we see movies as life lessons, movie stars in India are like role models for many people. If you are following Bollywood since childhood then it is not possible that you don’t have any role model celebrity. Some people love Salman’s charisma, some love Hrithik’s dance, some love Shah Rukh’s iconic hand gesture and so on...

But, in the glory of Bollywood movies, there are some dark stuffs that many people either don’t know, or don’t want to accept knowingly. Yes it’s true that Bollywood has produced some iconic movies like ‘Dilwale Dulhaniya leJayenge’ which has a theatre runtime of 1000 weeks, ‘Kaho na Pyaar he’ which has a Guiness world record of getting maximum awards for any movie in the entire world and many more. But if we see in 2020, sorry for my words but Bollywood is ‘Shit’.

But How? For example, let me give a general plot of a Bollywood movie and you say if it is correct or not. “A Hero (with perfect body and good looks), A Heroine (the prettiest and the hottest girl in the world), A villain (who has a hardcore rivalry with either the hero or the heroine), Love at first sight, Deep love till end of a song, one Item song with half naked model, a fight sequence at the end (where the villain dies), etc.” Now when you use this plot to think you’ll find that a majority of Bollywood films follow the same plot to construct a story, and we still spend our money to watch them.

If we take a closer look we’ll see that it’s not the fault of the film makers. It’s basically is the fault of us, the audience. Watching Bollywood since birth has conditioned us in such a way that we are addicted to this kind of stuff. Why would the film makers make a unique movie if it is going to be a flop.

Now there’ll be some people who’ll say “ then what about movies like 3 idiots, Gold, LOC Kargil, Parmanu, The Gazi Attack etc ?”
Let me make it clear for you. Movies like LOC Kargil, Parmanu and Gold are patriotic movies so the patriotism inside us makes us like it, and movies like 3 idiots and Tubelight are mere copies of old famous Hollywood movies (surf the internet if you don't believe).

So how does all this makes Bollywood Injurious? The answer is that the glamour of the Bollywood movies has so much impact on the youth that they start relating it to their lives and think of their life as a picture perfect movie, in which they are the hero, they’ll get a hot girl, a lot of money, six pack abs body and what not. But in reality, when they find any of the things going wrong they cannot tolerate it. Let me explain the side effects in points :

  • If they don’t get a picture perfect body or heroish looks, they start using steroids and harmful chemical products.
  • If they don’t get the picture perfect money, they start doing illegal things like gambling and drug dealing
  • If they encounter any struggle in real life unlike the movie, they go down into depression or commit suicide.
  • Most importantly, if the youth doesn’t get a hot girl or a girl rejects them, then crimes like ‘acid attack’ and ‘Rape’ takes place.

Finally, I don’t say that everything in Bollywood is wrong. There are movies like Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Lagaan, Andhadhoon, Mardaani, Gully boy, Padmaavat, etc which are a fine piece of art and teaches us good moral values. But in a Country with more than 150 movies per year, such good movies are so less that it can be counted on fingers. These kind of movies needs to be promoted instead of movies with shitty story with half naked item songs.

And a final piece of advice  to you, my dear Reader, don’t believe everything that is happening in the Bollywood movies, it is just fiction and nothing is true about it. And if possible, don’t watch the shitty Bollywood movies rather watch good hindi dubbed south indian movies or Hollywood movies which atleast have a good story for pure entertainment.
